Westminster has called a pastor!

Yesterday we had a dinner with and today we heard a sermon from the Rev. Wade Coleman, the pastoral candidate unanimously chosen by the church's pulpit committee. His sermon was on Psalm 130, and he did a marvelous job of exegeting the passage for us. I was encourages to listen as the man the search committee selected did an excellent job of bringing to us the Word of God, and more encouraged as the pastoral search committe (comprising seven people I highly esteem) outlined in detail his (rather massive) list of qualifications and reasons why he should be the pastor of Westminster.

He passed in a vote of the congregation, 104-1. Wade and his wife, Marian, told us that they would pray and fast and give us a response within a week. Assuming they respond in the affirmative to the call, I am very excited that they will be ministering amongst us in the coming years. God has truly blessed out church with a wonderful find, and I (and, I'd imagine, the rest of the congregation as well) are extremely thankful for His mercy on us.
