Hang Time in Austin

So I had what I thought was going to be the last (actually the second to last) in a series of what is now six dentist appointments in the past four months. Going to the dentist is irritating because I still go to a dentist in Austin, but I live in College Station. Therefore, going to the dentist involves about five hours of driving for a one hour dentist appointment--the fact that going to the dentist just completely royally sucks does not help this senario at all.

I did have the priveledge of getting to spend time with three of my friends from RUF at the University of Texas. I got to hang with them at Summer Conference, but I don't see them enough, so this was enjoyable. We went to one of the GameStop stores in Austin and picked up the old Nintendo game, Contra, and played it for quite awhile--one of the most fun games for the Nintendo ever made. It's a two-player platform game, but unlike most two-player games back then (like Mario), both players get to play on the same team simultaneously. Chip 'n Dale was another game that did this. Anyway, so we did this for an hour and a half and then went to my house to eat and hang out by the water. I ended up heading back for College Station four hours later than I planned, and I had to drive in the dark (which I hate) and the rain (which I hate more). Oh well.

All in all, I had a pretty good day. It was a nice break from the normal scheme of things (minus the whole dentist appointment part)...now tomorrow I get to go back to trying to land myself a job. Fun fun.
