When it all seems endless...

When it all seems endless...

This morning was registration. This is that glorious event where I am forced to get up at some ungodly hour, usually on whichever day happens to be the most inconveinent possible day that week, and fight the web registration system to sign up for classes (of which bugs in the system gave me a particularly interesting battle this morning, as I found out that MTWR 12:40-1:30 and TR 9:35-10:50 apparently conflict, go figure...). Or, if I draw a card even less fortuneate, I can be given a time like Wednesday night at 6:00 PM like last semester, because nobody ever is committed to doing anything else at Wednesday at 6 PM (of course!).

This sort of thing tends to bring questions to my mind (like everything else, of course)--how long do I keep doing the same thing over and over? This seems to be indicitave of the ultimate normal, mundane life. You take 5 classes one semester, only to complete them and jump straight into taking 5 more the next semester. Graduating and working is no different, so that needs not be addressed.

Then I'm inclined to recall that we do actually have something to be doing other than the normal drudgery (I love that word!) of classes. We're supposed to be doing all of this work with the glory of God and the Gospel of Christ in mind. Are our lives reflecting what they're supposed to be reflecting, a bride faithful to Her bridegroom? No, of course not, but Christ is constantly changing us and molding us, and that will make every year both different and superior to the one before it for the Christian. And that is exciting to remember.
