Backfire
Rain slept on the new cat toy last night, in lieu of her usual practice (next to me). :(

She'll be back.

I hated it when our old family cat used to sleep in my bed. She wasn't happy unless she was 1) clawing my thigh and 2) curled right up between my legs. Quite uncomfortable. Of course, Buddy likes to do the same (minus the claws) which is why he sleeps in the laundry room in his pet bed.

Rain's a lot more benign. She jumps on the bed (which she does about 2-3 minutes after I get in bed, so I'm nowhere near asleep yet), walks next to me, investigates to make sure I'm actually going to bed, and then sits down with her back or side touching me, completely awake, and facing the door. I don't have to worry about any mice or flies killing me in my sleep; I have a guardian cat. :D
About 15 minutes later, she'll decide that I've been successfully protected, and go to sleep herself at that spot--although sometimes I squirm and make that difficult.

Haha :) That used to drive me crazy too. I didn't mind her sleeping in the bed with me... but once the claws came out and got the inside of my leg, it was time to move her to the floor.
As for sleeping between the legs, that wasn't too bad until I woke up and felt the need to move. Of course, I was afraid to because I wasn't exactly sure what the claws were going to get if I did move.
