Make a wish...
About a year ago marked the announcement of the now-(in)famous Apple iPhone, which I've seen dubbed "The Jesus phone" in some blogs. Now, Andy and Peter both have iPhones, so I'm around them a lot. They're slick, I must admit. They do a lot of stuff. That said, there was one feature about the iPhone I never really cared about.
The phone part.
I'm not the only one. Daniel expressed a similar sentiment when it was announced. Elli and I actually had a semi-long conversation about it after it was released. I actually think the iPhone is awkward to hold as a phone.
Enter the iPod Touch. It's totally badass and perfect. Elli summed it up best on IM...

I would probably agree with you about the awkwardness of the phone given the size/shape, but since I got used to the feel of that shape demoing BlackBerry, Treo and other PDA type devices at Cingular, it doesn't really bother me much.

Here Here!! It's pretty sweet ain't it? :) Did you settle for saving $100 and buying the 4 GB model or did you go ahead and splurge and go the full 8? (I'm assuming 8)

It's discontinued, so once they're out that's all folks. Being $100 cheaper, I managed to snag one of the last 4 GB models the Apple store at Barton Creek Mall had.

They have them at the store at the Domain, too.
I bought an 8 GB. 4 GB isn't enough, considering this needs to replace my iPod, also, to justify the cost. It currently has 6.5 GB of data on it.
