i'm going on a rant lol
No, seriously, the title alone should make the point. It bugs me to no end when "LOL" becomes a replacement for a period. The abbreviation stands for "laughing out loud". Now, I personally think it is acceptable to use said abbreviation to simply communicate that something is humorous, even if you are not actually laughing out loud. That doesn't bother me. But I've had too many conversations with people who simply append the term to the end of every sentence. It's aggravating.
On another note, for some reason it's mid-April and yet it's ridiculously cold outside. Ridiculously cold is defined as 36 degrees! It's April. Easter Sunday is tomorrow, and I'm going to likely be wearing a jacket to church. Usually it's warm by Easter. Heck, often it's warm by Ash Wednesday! Oh well, I'm just glad I don't have to go outside today.
I remember that a year ago, my life felt very not-busy. Now, I'm super insaneo busy. I'm looking forward to a return to the former. My cat's been lying on my lap for about three hours now. I wish I could do that.

I was surprised to see lol in your title; it's just not like you. I was pleased to see that that was the subject of your rant. I do SO agree with you.
I also find comments like "ur kul, m8" to be decidedly uncool.
It is sleeting here.

I can't stand any of those abbreviations. I think the only ones I ever use (seriously) are "brb" and "wtf."
If you ever see me using IMO, IMHO, ROFLMAO, LMAO, LOL, OMG, etc... I'm making fun of the people that abuse said terms. Liek, OMG taht is soooooooo fun-E lolz!!!111!!!!1!!1!!!!!!1!!1!111!!!!!eleven!!!111!!1!!!!!!111!!!!!!LOLZAS!!!11!!
As for the cold... yeah, I definitely want the heater to come back on. Maybe that's because I love the 100 degree heat and despise the freezing 60 degree weather. (and today is in the 30s which is much worse than the 60s)

Seriously though, abbreviations like OMG the suck, or WTF are funny. BRB's fine. LOL is fine in moderation. In fact, it's like chocolate. Every once in a while it's good and on select sweets it's good, but you would put chocolate syrup on pizza. Using 'LOL' after every sentence is like putting chocolate on everything you eat, even sardines.
