Cocoa?

I've spent the last two days in a "snowed in" state, working remotely due to the inclement weather in Austin. It's cold here! I've been actually quite enjoying working from home; it's nice to get up thirty minutes to an hour later, and have nice, soothing piano music going in the background (thanks to iTunes and Jim Brickman!) while I'm working. My gas bill (or lack thereof) would be awesome, too! On the other hand, I would miss the change of scenery if I had a job where I worked from home permanently.

I did something uniquely impressive last night...I slept through four straight hours of my phone ringing every five minutes. One of our servers was generating a minor alert, but that was shooting off a gripe notice every five minutes. I woke up to find over 80 of them on my phone. Turns out I had my phone on a reduced volume setting by accident (silent + being plugged in = low volume). Whups. Glad nothing actually important was wrong. I've only been on call for six days now, and I'm obviously not very used to it yet. I know Michael has his share of horror stories; hope I get off a little better.

Dude, my stories would give people nightmares.

"Working from home" doesn't have to be literal. If I worked from home every day, I'd spend most of my time at a coffee shop or somewhere less dull than my real home.

Yes and no. In principle, you're right. When the reason for the WFH day is because the roads are iced over, then the literality of it is a bit of a prerequisite. :)
