New Browsers are Out
For those that want a better web browsing experience, Firefox 2 has been released today. Get thee to the webpage and download it.
Also, if you happen to be unfortunate enough to be stuck using Microsoft's pile of trash, I do at least recommend making the plunge to Internet Explorer 7. From what I have looked at so far, it is a vast improvement over IE6, although don't let my saying this be an excuse to not use Firefox. :)

The installer for Firefox 2 is 5.6 MB; the installer for IE 7, 14.8 MB. And the superiority only begins there....
Oh, and just in case anyone here forgot about one of the best jokes evar*: [url]http://ie7.com/[/url].
* I normally refuse to butcher the English language into "netspeak", but in this case, I feel the archaic orthography lends emphasis and ironical tone.

I installed Firefox 2.0, and in the first 72 hours it hung about five times, requiring a restart, so I zapped it and went back to 1.5.0.7. Now I'm a happy camper.

That's odd, Mrs. S....I've seen 1.5.0.7 crash on a dozen different machines and five operating systems, but have yet to see 2.0 hang once.

Firefox 2 works fine on my machine. Do you have an incompatible addon installed?

I don't think so; my setup is pretty vanilla. I do have lots of those search thingies, so it's possible I failed to reinstall one of those. They're not necessarily compatible. I just don't recall (in the words of Hilary Clinton).

How did you get from Firefox to Hillary Clinton (circa mid-nineties), are you sure you're not posting from Netscape 4.7? That's definitely inferior to Firefox.
